Church Fundraising

It is best to go with a program that:

  1. caters to you and your particular organization.
  2. fits your organizations moral beliefs.
  3. proudly displays testimonials and references.
  4. offers free samples, support, and experience.
  5. is proven to work.

Based on a little research we recommend looking into these church fundraising options:

  1. Steingress is a southern craftsman and maker of fine pewter church medallions for over ten years. Using a line drawing of your church building, photo of a stained glass window, etc., Steingress will make a mold and hand pore fine molten pewter into a mold spinner. The medallions are trimmed, polished and detailed. Each medallion gets a ribbon and display box. I have personally seen him make these church medallions and I have to say that it is a pleasure to see a true craftsman at work. His product is very attractive and unique. If you don't believe me, just contact any of his references displayed on his web site. They will tell you that Steingress church medallions sell quickly and easily and his experience in preparing for a fundraiser is very helpful too.

  4. The Church Funding Council provides council for your ministry in the areas of Capital Campaign Planning & Implementation, Stewardship Program Enhancement, Stewardship Education Curriculum, Strategic Planning, and Endowment Fund Growth. They claim to perform a thorough review and assessment of your church's fundraising record. Since I have not personally used there services I have included a list of what they do in the evaluation:

    • Conducting a feasibility study that determines the level support of financial and volunteer support for the project.

    • The preparation of the campaign budget that establishes the financial investment necessary to conduct the capital campaign.

    • A case statement that clearly articulates the rationale behind the campaign, drawing from the Long range Plan/Case Statement and the feasibility Study.

    • Determination as to the officer's role in providing leadership to the campaign. The officers should be asked for their support before the congregation.

    • The identification of leadership gift prospects. This includes individuals who are a part of the church family who may also be in a position to make a significant gift to the campaign.

    • A campaign calendar that will assure coordination and timelines. It is critical to understand the sequence of activities in campaign for your church.

    • A PR Plan, program brochure, and literature that expresses, from the Case Statement, the purposes and anticipated benefits to the congregation and community.

    • A series of planning meetings of a Campaign Steering Committee for coordinating and progress report purposes.

    • The recruitment and training of volunteers who will participate in gift solicitation visits. A kick-off function and other special events that make public and build enthusiasm and support for the campaign.

    • The solicitation of leadership gift prospects in a thoughtful, prayerful, coordinated way that involves as "askers" those individuals deemed best in each situation. Efforts to try and "match" the asker and donor can make a huge difference.

    • Development of record-keeping and acknowledgement procedures that will assures the timely acknowledgment of gifts and pledges.

    • A plan for appropriate donor recognition including "naming opportunities." Such opportunities provide donors ways to honor and remember loved ones.
